Contrast

Personally feel it is visually interesting,
and train me to look at things in more detail,
such as the colour and materials they use.

Rainy day

I do not like rainy day but here is LONDON!
Umbrella is not always a best friend here.

Scale part 2

This is a view from London Bridge. A Perspective view is shown
from 3D craft  to 2D buildings far away.

Street mesh up workshop

We compared two completely different streets in london,
One is very posh whereas other one is down to the market.
It is easily identify the characteristics when placed all the pictures
together.

We learnt to show our thinking by tracing the important
elements from each street rather than telling.

Juxtaposed two completely different elements together to
form a new image.

I tried to give Chanel a completely different look.
It looks like a old sign painting on a forgotten wall
where a lots of torn posters.

Playful, cheap, ugly Chanel logo!!

Chanel appears in the street market VS High class fried chicken shop

IAN FRANCIS ART

I think the best art is showing your personality and feeling.
I can see the violent and lonely in his work. I like the contrast
of his work. It easily draw people's attention to the focus
of his work. It is brilliant to see the way he used simple outline
and random patches on his work. Messy and clean lines created
more ambiguous atmosphere.

Marbling amazing result!!!!!!!!!

This is made by marbling process. It is such a cool and quick method!
Look at how detail and unique each one is!!

Camouflage workshop

What can be  camouflage in the city?
It can be something  is hardly disguise by us.
It can be something people never pay attention to it.
It can be something blend into the environment so perfectly.
It can be something not to be seen at certain angle.
It can be something camouflaged to certain people.
I have found some camouflaged letters in the street and
some of them I drew by myself. For example, "The tree man" and
 "combining the letters with rubbing".

Broken letters on the wall

Can you see " I AM HERE?" in the picture?

"combining the letters with rubbing"

Tree man

Make my own typeface

I used letterpress and rubbing to make my own typeface. It was
very experimental.  Each one has its own characteristic.

I glued all the typefaces together and tried to tear away
layer by layer. The effect was quite surprising. Although
the letters are broken but some of them still are easily
identified.

cardboard construction workshop

Weather is a big issue in London. Rainy, windy, cold,
unpredictable. Sunny day is a really big deal here. People
will make full use of it. Now I can totally understand them.
Weather easily affect my mood, so I created this four face
weather character and each face represents sunny, windy,
rainy day. I placed this character to some places I went.
I brought it to the pub which is one the favorite places among
londoner. One question has stuck my head for a long time
" why do londoner love beer so much????"
