Make a world seems a better place

I noticed the poster of  construction,
the perception of the worker
from people is more or less same.

Construction sign. Again, boringggggg....

Construction worker contribute so much to the society.
But they never leave the name and no one remember them.
My aim of this project is changing the people's perception
of construction worker, instead of the ugly, noisy site.

In studio, we have helped our partner to make the mock up.
What I have made is a series of cut out paper, showing
how the building has been builded. It will be pasted on the
barrier. So when the people pass by, they will notice it.
After discussion, I am given a suggestion that looking more at the
road sign, may be make it more personal instead of public sign.

This is my partner's work. It is fashion advertisement, pasting
on the window of  the closed down supermarket. Nobody
comes now and the place become lonely.
The aim of this is to recreate same atmosphere, by showing
how fashion in World War 2.

fantastic drawing lesson!

I always thought that drawing has to be good,  and too focus at those small details.
But I WAS WRONG!
we are taught to draw without looking at our paper.
It was really hard but we are more focus on the object.
we learnt to trust our feeling and be confident of what you draw.

Done by both hand and draw it together.
I found it looks lively and there are more things to look at.

Why can't you cut something out instead of drawing?

Done by other classmates...

Project-Making the world seem a better place

Day 1

One of my impression in London is everywhere is under construction.
So I start investigating and exploring on the one construction site just outside
Farringdon tube station.
It is dirty and noisy.
people just walk pass quickly.

An interesting fact I have found out is that there are
cigarettes everywhere on the construction site, although
a big and obvious NO SMOKING sign was displayed on the barrier.

Snacks, cups and tin are stuffed in the hold of the barrier.
I guess they must be bored and tired of the work.

Conclusion:
construction workers are trying to make the world beautiful.
They work everyday.
The job is tiring and boring.
At the end of day, what do they get?
Do people appreciate what they have done for us?
No, they just pass by quickly, avoiding the dirt and noisy.
some even complain.

Industry tour

Task of today:
Interview one graphic designer
Get his name card
Take a few photographs of the studio

we are lucky to talk to one of the graphic designer.
He is very friendly guy. He does printing, t-shirt design, and web site.

He loves boring things.
When I ask him how he turned boring thing into something beautiful.
He said:" try to put them into different context."
Lastly, he recommend us, as a graphic student
"try to use your school facilities, spent whole day there
and make nice work and SELL THEM!
Spent money on your project.
It always worth to do it! Just like a investment!"

Check out on company's website:

I love screen printing!

Helping out my dear friend on his work!

The good thing about screen printing is every piece
work never gonna to be the same.
It might come out something you could never imagine.
It can be nice.
It can be a shit.
It can be weird.
It might give you new ideas!

GO MAD!

Business Art Gallery

This gallery exhibits all kinds of different bazar d, commercial arts.
It is very interesting as they are showing in 2D, 3D by using a range of
sympathetic and appropriate processes and techniques.
really INNOVATIVE!

Combining daily single components can be great piece of art!
I really like those of rusting kind of stuff.
the artist must have a habit of collecting strange things.
They are always useful!
